Having trouble downloading

I am trying to download the Zorin OS 9 32-bit core iso. I tried three times with Firefox but it would act as if it was successful, even though only 200 something megabytes showed as coming down. I found a program called Free Download Manager. It downloads the file in parallel, with multiple parts of the file being downloaded at once. It seems to work OK. The file it downloads is 1.31 GB (1,413,210,112 bytes) according to Windows 8.1 File Explorer. I then used a program called Checksum Control to generate an MD5 checksum. The checksum I got does not agree with what is on the website. I redownloaded the file and got the same checksum that I had gotten the first time. I tried to use the downloaded iso in VMWare Workstation but it just crashed.

Any recommendations on a program to download the OS and a program to create the checksum?

Hi Zorinsky,

Because i had simular problems to download the .iso file, i then used the addon DownThemAll from Firefox it has a buildin md5 checksum to.https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/downthemall/

Hi Hensyr, I used to recommend DownThemAll but I had issues with Zorin 8 downloads with that - the Admins advice NOT to use any download accelerator programs as that can corrupt the downloads. I have never had issue using Opera (12.16) to download Zorin! :D

Make sure download is from here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/zorin-os/files/9/

If you are resident in a country that makes it illegal to have DVD codecs etc you need to download the iso marked "-a" at the end - if it is legal whre you live, download the version without the "-a" label! :D
