Thanks swarfendor437 for that.

Looked into it, although very informative, it has not resolved my issue as the system keeps rejecting the PW.
Will keep looking for now.

Thanks for that Wolfman

I have previously installed Truecrypt with no issues on Ubuntu 11.10
I have also followed the the instruction at http://www.truecrypt.org
The issue must be with the Sudo command and its reason for rejection - i do not really want to compromise my system and go direct to Root
What i want to do ifs find an answer to my situation - not sure if it because of an update or it may well be in need of a reinstall but i am reluctant to go down that root of reinstalling right now.
I will have to keep looking.

Hello alpha1.

Here are 2 things for you to look into.

1 - you have add your user in user/Groups to all of the options there (the one Before the last will not let you).
2- add your self to the sudoers files as Admin. ;)

Ok Wicked Found it.

Once in User Settings
Go to Manage Groups
Then Group Settings and then select Properties and under Group Members select the Members, You will see (Group Sudo Propitiates) and Basic Settings and under Group Members you can select a blank user to add to sudo by ticking the box.

Go Admin. Thanks i obliviously did not go fare enough previously.

sudo visudo

add the folliwing line to the file

Admin ALL=(ALL) ALL

then press control + o

I was going to suggest that you change your user account setting (which is 'Custom' by default - I think!) and change to Admin - you can always revert to what groups you want to be in after by removing yourself from 'Admin' group after you have successfully made your changes. Is th issue [SOLVED] now alpha1?

Thank you for the mail sorry for the delay in replying.
Sorry to say it has not resolved the issue of installing the program as it stills bums out at this point
